In March of 2008, The Missouri Law Enforcement Funeral Assistance Team was founded as a resource to assist departments and families upon the death of an Officer. The primary focus is on line of duty deaths, but the Team will also assist with funerals for retired Officers and for active duty Officers who pass away from non-duty related injury or illness. Our goal is to insure that fallen Officers are laid to rest with the highest level of dignity and honor. Additionally, we will work to coordinate resources to directly support the agency and family such a for chaplain services, mental health support, and assistance in obtaining financial support available to the family, including the Federal Public Safety Officer Benefit.
The primary mission of the team is to plan and carry out a LODD funeral. Also to provide assistance and comfort to the family and department and help with filing PSOB and other benefits.
